FBT exemption begins phasing out from April 2027 The federal FBT exemption for EVs via novated lease narrows from 1 April 2027. EVs under $75,000 keep the full exemption until 2029. EVs between $75k and $91,387 drop to a 25% discount from April 2027. (Source: 2026 Federal Budget · announced 5 May 2026 · takes effect 1 Apr 2027.)
